Quinta Cova da Raposa

The “Fox Den Farm” has 2 Hectares of vineyards in the outskirts of Braga. Manuel and Elisabete also produce diverse organic fruits and herbs, in the granitic soils of the farm, which faces South and has excellent exposition to sun and wind, at an altitude of 350m. The grapes grown are the indigenous Alvarinho and Avesso. They are associated to Vinibio, a local organic cooperative of wine producers, where they leave the grapes not used for their main wine. In 2017 they stopped adding sulphur to their wines.

In 2019 Quinta Cova da Raposa produced for the 1st time a monovariety of Avesso at the request of Portuguese Story. The grape can make very interesting full body and aromatic whites in Vinho Verde Region. 1st stock arrived to UK in July, dont loose the opportunity to taste it, its outstanding.

Fermentation process Hand harvest, de-stemming. Fermentation of the juice in stainless Steel vats at controlled temperature. Lays on the lees for 6 months.
